AI-Powered Autocorrect in iOS 17: Time to Duck No More!

Get ready to duck no more as iOS 17 introduces an AI-powered autocorrect that even learns your swear words.

Autocorrect on iOS is about to get a significant upgrade, and you can thank artificial intelligence (AI) for that!

Apple, at its annual WWDC conference, revealed that iOS 17 will come equipped with an advanced autocorrect feature. This AI-empowered system is expected to predict your next words and phrases with remarkable precision. Over time, this intelligent model will personalize its understanding of your vocabulary - yes, even the swear words you often try to duck around!

Apple's software chief, Craig Federighi, humorously pointed out in a prerecorded presentation, "In those moments where you just want to type a ducking word, well, the keyboard will learn it, too.”

The magic lies in the utilization of a 'Transformer' model. This AI model, dating back to 2017, has become the go-to architecture for intricate AI reasoning tasks. The Transformer model has displayed proficiency in various areas, including summarizing documents, generating music, classifying objects in images, and analyzing proteins. Now, it seems, learning swears is next on the list!
