Creative Agency Special Appoints David Day as New Chief Creative Officer

Creative agency Special has hired David Day as its new Chief Creative Officer. Day will also join the partner team alongside CEO Jennifer Black and Chief Strategy Officer Emily Harlock.

Creative agency Special has made a significant new addition to its leadership team, appointing David Day as its new Chief Creative Officer. As part of his role, Day will also join hands with CEO Jennifer Black and Chief Strategy Officer Emily Harlock to form the agency's partner team.

Day, currently serving as the Executive Creative Director at London-based CPB, is set to assume his new position in the fall. He will lead Special’s London office in collaboration with Black and Harlock.

This leadership change comes at a crucial growth period for Special, which recently expanded its client roster with the addition of Italian FMCG firm Mutti. Other prominent clients of the agency include well-known brands like Speedo, Virgin, Time Out, and ASOS.

Expressing her excitement at Day's appointment, Black said, "I loved working with Dave in my past life. He’s a hugely talented and experienced creative leader, and an absolutely lovely human to boot. We are incredibly excited for everything we’re going to do together.”

Originating from New Zealand, Special’s Auckland office recently earned the title of Global Creative Agency of the Year from Campaign Magazine for the second year in a row.

Day, equally enthusiastic about his new role, added, “Our role is to create interactions. Moments where we connect brands with people. And it’s in those interactions, no matter how fleeting, where we exist and they have to be special. It’s the reason I’ve come to join.”
