Grey London, a premier advertising agency, has welcomed Liam Thomas as the new Head of Design. Thomas, former Head of Design at DEPT®, will be in charge of leading a team of designers, animators, and artworkers, elevating the agency's design work while strengthening the relationship between the creative department and its clients.

Thomas recently bagged a Webby at the 2023 Webby Awards for his work on “The Truth, Undressed” for Canesten. This project also earned him a Bronze Clio at the 2023 Clio Awards and a Gold Clio at the Clio Health Awards 2023.

In his new position, Thomas will work across all Grey London clients, reporting to Executive Creative Director David Wigglesworth. He will supervise the 15-strong design team in London, including artworkers, and will also collaborate periodically with Grey’s sister agency in Croatia.

Prior to joining DEPT®, Thomas has worked with major accounts such as Nike, Tinder, Under Armour, and Twitch. He has also held the position of Senior Designer at Manifesto Studios and Made Thought & AnalogFolk. In addition, Thomas is a co-founder of SOMEDAY, a creative experiment focused on Welsh culture.

Thomas is particularly passionate about addressing the attainment and accessibility gap within the advertising industry. He has actively engaged with schools and colleges in Wales, his hometown, to mentor students and guide them in exploring creative career opportunities.

Upon Thomas's appointment, David Wigglesworth, Executive Creative Director at Grey London, stated that his incredible body of work and deep understanding of emerging tech would positively influence the design landscape at Grey London. Thomas's commitment to excellence, coupled with his passion for inclusive representation in the advertising industry, aligns well with Grey London's belief in the power of diverse perspectives.
