Smoking Gun, a PR agency based in Manchester, has been appointed to promote the Interflora World Cup, an international floral design competition debuting in the UK this September. Contestants from over 20 countries, including the UK, South Korea, Peru, and Canada, will participate in this global event.
The Interflora World Cup, hosted at Manchester Central Hall, is recognized as the flagship event in the competitive floristry world and has been likened to the Olympics and the football World Cup. Competitors will strive to create the most advanced and unique floral designs.
Erica Nicholson, Interflora senior brand manager, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament, "The Interflora World Cup is the flagship event in the competitive floristry world – bringing together the greatest floral designers from across the globe," she said.
Rick Guttridge, Smoking Gun's marketing director, commented on the fascinating aspects of the world of competitive floristry. He said, “Who knew there could be so much drama and back stories in the world of competitive floristry?” He added that the vivid characters involved are ideal for their style of immersive storytelling, and his team is already securing widespread coverage.
Smoking Gun's recent appointment to promote the Interflora World Cup follows several other partnerships, including those with Welsh jewellery brand Clogau, Alton Towers, Eurocamp, and the NHS. The announcement comes on the heels of the recent acquisition of floral brand Interflora by Calling, after a successful competitive pitch earlier this month.
