Snapchat is ready to paint the town in rainbow colors with an exciting array of activations in celebration of Pride Month. These include Spotlight challenges, trendy Bitmoji attire, fascinating AR elements, and more, promising an immersive Pride experience for its users.
Kicking off with Spotlight, Snapchat's in-app feature that emulates TikTok's vertical video feed, the social media platform is joining hands with a diverse group of LGBTQ+ creators to introduce an engaging set of Spotlight challenges. Participating Snapchatters stand a chance to win a slice of a $40k prize pool.
As Snap puts it, from June 1st to 27th, Snapchatters are encouraged to flaunt their funniest comedy sketches, showcase their glamorous Pride outfits, promote their favorite queer-owned businesses, and unveil their most incredible trick shots on Spotlight. The themed challenges not only offer an opportunity to win prizes but also contribute to the larger celebration of the event.
To spruce up the digital avatars, Snap is teaming up with Nike for an exclusive series of 'Be True' Bitmoji fashion items. You can currently deck out your digital doppelganger in a limited-edition 'Be True' hoodie, with a real-world version also available on Nike.com as part of Nike's annual Pride collection. For those interested in dressing up their Bitmojis, you can claim the hoodie, which will be added to your avatar's outfit and saved to 'My Closet' on Snapchat to be worn after the Drop ends.
Moreover, Snap is rolling out its innovative SEEN Camera experience to empower users to narrate their stories within the app. The SEEN Camera Lens, equipped with topic prompts, interview questions, and AR effects, guides Snapchatters through their storytelling journey. Snap is encouraging users to share their Pride Month narratives to offer more insights and perspectives to others in the app.
Snapchat users can also look forward to a line-up of themed Lenses, filters, stickers, and captions to be launched throughout Pride Month. With a multitude of ways to participate in Pride Month on Snap, users can display their unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community.
