In a significant staffing move, Vega, Manchester's rising star in the agency landscape, has announced the recruitment of Rebecca O’Malley as its new Managing Partner. With an illustrious background, O’Malley has helmed the role of Head of Broadcast at Mediacom since 2015. Her prime mandate at Vega would be to spearhead its Audio-Visual (AV) offerings.
Shifting from a major player like Mediacom to an independent agency such as Vega signifies a strategic turn in O’Malley's career. "Having never worked on the independent agency side of the industry before, I look forward to diving deep, having refreshing dialogues with media owners and clients,” expressed O’Malley. Her impressive stint in the industry also includes roles as Business Development Controller at ITV and AV Accounts Director at MediaVest (now known as dentsu).
O’Malley's enthusiasm about her new role is palpable, "It’s exhilarating to team up with former colleagues who have a demonstrated history of crafting prosperous companies. I’m truly eager to witness what the coming times usher in."

Founded by an ensemble of former agency luminaries, including Alexia Harper, Nick James, Liz Lavelle, Jon Hall, Ian Lees, Mark Jorgensen, and Dave Lucas, Vega has roots in leading agencies like Carat, dentsu, iProspect, McCann, and MediaCom.
Commenting on the new appointment, Ian Lees voiced, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have Rebecca onboard. Her commendable achievements in AV planning, buying, and sponsorship across myriad sectors position her uniquely. Our growth trajectory has been notable in our debut trading year, and we're confident Rebecca’s inclusion will be a pivotal catalyst for our AV product, clientele, and future expansion."
The move signals Vega's commitment to bolstering its AV capabilities, positioning it firmly for future industry challenges and opportunities.
