Microsoft Unveils Copilot App: Access GPT-4 AI Chatbot on iOS & Android

Hot off the heels of its Copilot app launch on Android, Microsoft takes a stride further by releasing the AI chatbot app on iOS and iPadOS, available for download from the Apple App Store.

This app opens the doors to Microsoft Copilot (formerly Bing Chat), offering functionalities akin to OpenAI’s ChatGPT mobile app. Beyond answering queries, composing emails, and condensing text, users can also generate images through an integration with the text-to-image generator DALL-E3.

Setting itself apart, Copilot grants access to GPT-4, the newest large language model (LLM) developed by OpenAI. Unlike the free version of ChatGPT operating GPT-3.5, Copilot introduces users to the advanced capabilities of GPT-4 without necessitating a subscription fee.

Microsoft's rebranding of Bing Chat to Copilot signals a shift towards a standalone chat experience similar to ChatGPT. Alongside the app rollout on Android and Apple devices, Microsoft has forged a dedicated web platform for Copilot, offering a separate encounter outside the Bing ecosystem.
